John Danaher Philosophy

John Danaher is generally perceived as one of the most important Jiu-Jitsu coaches of his generation. He is a BJJ black belt under Renzo Gracie and an instructor at Renzo Gracie’s academy in New York City, and is widely regarded within the grappling community as one of the best coaches of his generation. He also has a Ph.D. in philosophy.

Praised by some of the top figures in combat sports such as MMA coach Greg Jackson and Jiu-Jitsu legend Vinícius Draculino for his teaching capabilities and knowledge, Danaher is best recognized for his work with athletes such as Georges Saint Pierre, Garry Tonon, Gordon Ryan and Eddie Cummings known among BJJ fans as the Danaher Death Squad (DDS).
