Coach Tom Davey, a brown belt, has a gym in Adelaide, Australia, as well as his online resource, The Grappling Academy, where he selflessly offers so much valuable information for the starting and more advanced grapplers.
In this video, he shows us what to do when the bottom half-guard player entangles our leg and stops us from passing the guard. Additionally, a sneaky kimura submission can be added further into the sequence, since the position allows it. Tom shows us a variation of the standard kimura, by flipping the palm of one of your hands upwards instead of downwards, making it more tight and effective.
Overall, a beautiful technique, which works especially well in no-gi.
